It’s that time of year again, when a chilling wind howls in the darkness outside, a time when we see skeleton and zombie yard decorations being raised up overnight. It’s finally Halloween season! Last year, I embarked on a thematic quest to play through some spooky, Halloween-inspired games, both old and new. I decided to use the title of “Blogtober” because….I…thought it was clever at the time and it seemed to fit the schtick I was aiming for. This was also my way of showing the rare bit of ambition on my WordPress site and posted two articles each week about the games I had been playing, culminating with playing Luigi’s Mansion 3 for its Halloween release date. For this year I wanted to give the concept another try, so I intend to post something every Monday and Friday of the month, with tomorrow and the following Mondays being a specific game that I’m playing for the first time, and Fridays will be a few random ideas related in some way to the Halloween season. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I have spent the past several months streaming here and there on Twitch, with the past two months being a little more consistent in frequency. In addition to posting articles here on WordPress, I have planned on streaming a few scary games as well. I will attempt to remain on my current “schedule” of streaming Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting around 8:15 a.m. CST and on Saturday and Sunday evenings somewhere between 5:30-6:00. Tomorrow morning I will be finishing up Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers(my game swap pick sent over by Kim from Later Levels in exchange for Banjo-Kazooie) and I recently began yet another attempt at actually completing a From Software game with Bloodborne. I will be concluding the month with a playthrough of Silent Hill 2 on Halloween.
